There Will Be Work

There will be, most likely Nordstrom, my old position, the application was faxed this afternoon.

I've already kinda gone over this, but now it's going on the record. I'm always miserable when I have a job, that's just me. That's who I am, I hate to work. It's mentally demoralizing, I always feel I could be doing so much more with my time. Something that's actually decent for mankind. But, whatever, I'm in debt and in present-day America you need money to live.

It's not like Jericho. Oh to be a guy in Jericho after the bombs fall ...

So, the way I figure it, I was at Nordstrom for a little over a year, and if I'm going to be miserable regardless, I might as well be Miserable With Dental. Then maybe I can afford to buy dad a proper chair or two for this computer room so my ass isn't in constant revolt.

Plus, my old boss is super excited to have me back on the team. It's always nice to not have to prove yourself.

Of course, this means I'm going to need a bus pass. With that, the commute will surely be a pisser. Fortunately, I have Jake as a model; I think he told me I should bus my way up there and take the Sounder back down. This sounds all right; when I first moved to New York I was commuting for 40-50 minutes on the subway. This'll be 10-20 minutes longer is all.

In other news, I absolutely smoked my brother and his friend at our impromptu Texas Hold 'Em tournament. I can't wait until they're not broke all the time so I can take some serious money from those guys. I think my skills are getting better by simply not making stupid bets; I only required one or two rivers to win my hands all night. It was pretty funny, though, when one time I took an all-in with a 10 on the river to make my straight beat his trip-aces on the flop.

Also, I got my desk set up in my new bedroom at the end of the hall. Did a total clean-job on the closet and threw away a bunch of useless crap that had been piling up.

OH, and my mom tells me an L.A. Fitness is opening up just down the road here, but it won't be until May and now that I look, it's not like we're looking at an abundance of locations. I mean, I can't tell you how long I am for Tacoma, and I don't want to get into another situation where I'm paying out the ass for a gym membership (something like $200 down and $20 a month) just so I can quit a few months later after I move and it's no longer feasible for me to belong to that particular gym.

I dunno, those are just some of the mundane things I've been up to in the last week or so. That and all-the-time adding music to iTunes and renaming everything since in my ignorance I decided it would be a good idea to remove all id3 tags on all my mp3s on my old computer.
