It’s Bwibney, Bwibch!

I dunno, I figured I'd give a quick rundown of what I've been up to lately.

Saturday was my ill-fated White Castle run, followed by my well-fated White Castle run and American Gangster. They showed the latest preview for No Country For Old Men; I'm drooling as we speak.

Sunday I woke up and realized the end of Daylight Savings happened and I had no idea. So, instead of waking up at an all-too-early 9:30am, I woke up at an insanely early 8:30am. Got my laundry done before noon, if that's even POSSIBLE (I seriously don't think that concept exists). Then I had a hearty BLT, went to a non-Black Sheep bar, saw my Black Sheep theory was ill-conceived, drank a good amount of beer, but not anything incapacitating, and then I went home and went to bed around 8 or 9pm.

It's funny who you'll find yourself bonding with out of sheer convenience. I've never really been one to have "work friends" as most places I've worked have always employed people I'd never want for friends. But, there's a cute new girl - fresh from college and the same temp agency as mine - who started last Friday and we've been taking our lunch breaks together. It's nothing really, I sit in the kitchen with my two sandwiches and daily newspaper, she comes in twenty minutes later with real food from the outside world, and we sit and chat until I have to go back to the front desk. Since we're the only ones who take a lunch (presumably because everybody else is on Salary while we're paid hourly), it's become, like, this thing, that we do, you know, to pass the time, or whatever.

Sorry, when you plow through a season of My So-Called Life, you tend to want to write these stilted sentences and say "Whatever" and "like" a lot.

I'll tell you what, though, after last Thursday's concluding Nightmare On Elm Street film, I've yet to watch a movie on my computer since. Sure, I got the last four seasons of Six Feet Under to watch, but that's a grim and harrowing undertaking I'm just not prepared to embark upon quite yet. So, what am I doing before and after I go to the gym, you ask?

Well, far be it for me to sound the broken record, but I'm updating my website. Not the journal, my personal website. Constant readers may note that I went and finished the fucker a few months ago and it's better than ever. Well, now I'm making it BETTER than better than ever.

First of all, it's going to be all-encompassing. When all is said and done, I'm going to have all my fiction up there as well as all of my non-fiction. That means all the crap I write about music and sports and TV and movies and news and politics and my own stupid rants about random bullshit. That means my journal entries. All of them, everything, in one place.

I know.

It's also going to be simpler to navigate. When you open the site, it'll give you two options: Fiction or Not. Pick one or the other and you get a list of sub-catagories corresponding. Also, on the fiction side, I'm cleaning things up. Instead of separating them by when I wrote them (segregating my college stories from my post-grad stories, etc.), I'm simply going to stick to genres. Novels, short stories, short shorts, series, and abortions (unfinished stories and those of a lower quality I don't want fraternizing with my good shit).

Pretty much, it's going to be my literary thumbprint, my online portfolio, whathaveyou. The design is all set - very simple black lettering on white background - now I've just got to transfer everything. That should take me ... oh, about five thousand years. Not too long.

I won't mention this again until it's finished.
