Don't Hassle the Hoff

More Employed Than Employed

I'm working tomorrow. 9am to whenever (5pm being the targeted ending time, but they say I'm free to go whenever I finish - and yes, that's what she said). The Alan Guttmacher Institute, which apparently deals with reproductive health of some sort. And I'll be keeping the books. Or shelving them. Or some other mindless task requiring hired help.

Believe you me, I am 100% on board for this assignment. Hell, with my money situation, they could've assigned me to a KKK Awareness Institute and I'd show up with my fitted yellow sheet bleached white. At $15 an hour, if I can manage to work the full eight hours, that's $100 in my pocket next week after taxes. That's a subway pass, two movie tickets and a large Cherry Farva that I don't have to charge to credit I have no way of paying back at the moment.

I'm also, apparently, on the list to work a couple conventions in the coming weeks. Two 2-day, 12-hour shifts, one before Josh gets here and one the week after he leaves. Man, I really hope I get these two, 'cause that's $18 an hour for 48 hours of work. Fingers are crossed, breath not held.

Man, this is the first time I've had to look forward to a work day in a while now. And, this is the first time I've had to look forward to a new job in a REAL long while now. Not that I'm nervous or anything, but I'd feel a lot better about the whole thing if I wasn't feeling ill.

I'm all caught up on my Rescue Me, just in time to watch the final three episodes of the fourth season in time with every other Rescue Me fan. I'm in the process of downloading Freaks & Geeks even though I've seen 'em already and talked about it ad nauseum. I'm also in the process of downloading the first season of The Larry Sanders Show. Hey now.

OK, I'm gonna slowly slide into unconsciousness. I hate the first day of a new job; invariably I wake up way too early and end up getting to the job way too early.
