I'm in the process of updating my website yet again. It's a large undertaking. Essentially because it's ALWAYS a large undertaking. I don't do things in small doses. I let the work build up and build up and then I try to gang-tackle it all by myself. Anyway, I'm currently in the process of making my workload even more cumbersome, because indeed, I'm finally getting around to updating my Journal link. I originally opted to hold off on that section, because indeed it's going to prove to be bigger than all of my other sections combined. Right now, I'm just linking straight to the LJ. But, eventually, I'm going to transcribe them all to their own little SycPic pages. Because God-damn it, I deserve it! And who knows what might happen to livejournal in five or ten years?
Anyway, I wouldn't go in there just yet. I'm in the process of building a skyscraper, and right now, there are tons of extra-large nuts and bolts rolling around just begging to cause an on-the-job injury.
What's my endgame in all of this, you ask? Well, eventually, there's going to be one singular website for you to get all of your Steven A. Taylor needs fulfilled. By Lucifer, it's going to be glorious!
As you can tell by the title, it's almost time for Vegas, baby. Vegas.
I'm trying to not think about it too much, because otherwise I won't get anything done. I won't even be able to move. I'll just roll around on the ground, convulsing from all the anticipation. This is like my first 15 Christmases all rolled up into one gigantic weekend of possibility.
It all starts in earnest tomorrow. You know how you can tell, pretty much by the moment you wake up, whether or not you're going to have a bad day? Like, you wake up 10 minutes before your alarm was supposed to wake you, or you drop the soap in the shower a couple times, denting the edges. Or you walk out of the apartment only to realize you've forgotten something you need to take with you. There's always some little hint that lets you know: you never should've gotten out of bed today. Well, I need none of those! I need tomorrow morning to go flawlessly. I need to get to my bus on time and I need to have a seat ready for me. I need to not be bothered by anyone. I need to get to work and not have a ton of bogus e-mails waiting for me, forcing me to do bullshit tasks. I need to have that little red voicemail light turned off. I need to brush my teeth in peace. I need to not see that annoying little guy who always tries to chat me up in the bathroom. I need to not have any claims assigned to me. I need to not have any claims assistant requests in my inbox.
I need people to essentially forget that I exist until noon. Just noon. That's not too much to ask.
Lordy lordy lordy ...
